Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does not work with Android Version 13 If you have a newer android phone the Surge Guard App will not work with any phone that has Android 13 on it. According to Southwire, they just (March 2023) recently discovered this bug despite the fact that Android 13 has been out since August 2022. This was extremely disappointing since I bought this more expensive surge protector for the ability to connect via bluetooth to my phone and use my phone as a monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved our butt many times! This unit works extremely well. It goes through a test face prior to even turning on the power to the RV. If everything does not match up, namely voltage, grounding, neutral issues, and so on. Many times it has not let us connect because of reversed polarity, namely, the neutral and hot or reversed, a hot ground or no ground. No neutral. All these can be dangerous. The power blink function works well, and that it does not allow fast on and off functions of the power. Once the power comes back, it will pause before turning the power back on to the RV, saving all the electronics, especially the air-conditioning. We have the remote Bluetooth monitor that mounts on the wall inside the RV, which again is priceless. This is definitely not something to skimp on. Safety first. And using this for well, over three years, will never plug the RV in to anything without it. Not even our house.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works but app doesn’t. Have had this for a couple years now. Was jealous of my buddy who has a competing brand with full app monitoring. Then I found the southwire app. Pretty excited to download and use it. Got it all up and running. And never reported a single amp. Says it’s not connected to the RV and only shows line one. Complete failure.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from App Does Not Work v 1.0.5 Connects to my southwire 34951 however app shows power is off to my RV and does not display any details for voltage, watts etc. All showing zero. V 1.0.5 on my Samsung S23+ running Android 13. Also sent email to developer email address listed on google play store Tom.Cladwell@southwire.com and email was rejected as not deliverable. Tells alot about the priority of making this a better app.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor customer serviceI basicall I bought the unit a little over a year ago and got a message REPLACE.I called Southwire and there responce was to replaced the unit,it is not covered under warranty. I spent almost $400.00 dollars on the unit.I was not pleased with the agent responce. I have a paper weight instead of a surge protector.I was hoping for a little better responce from the Customer service rep.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Blue tooth doesn't work. I've had this for just over 6 months and I'm unable to get the data on both my phone and tablet. It does connect on both devices but does not show the electrical data. Product support is poor as South wire will claim is the device that is at fault and not there Product. Sending them an email through their website results in no reply back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not working with compatible remote monitor or app I literally just purchased this out of the box and I'm not able to get it working with the remote power Monitor Bluetooth Display OR the app on my Iphone 14max!!!!!! Why would the dealer sell these not working and why would Southwire not pull them from the shelves if they don't work????

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does everything we need it to do! AFter our last one stopped working, we were on the hunt for something that we could trust to protect all of our work equipment. This one checked all the boxes and it's worked great from day 1.

On the Surgegaurd RV Models 34931 or the 34951. I've noticed that there is a white, and a brownish color model available. What's the difference?

Asked by: Jasper
There should be no difference between the capabilities, just a different look. The newer ones call out the Bluetooth compatibility on the packaging now that the Surge Guard app has been released.

Does the 34951 have a replaceable surge protection module? That is to say, when it is no longer functional after doing its job?
