On June 18th, the National Electrical Contractor Association (NECA) announced their list of 2018 national award recipients. Southwire is excited to have been selected to receive the NECA Industry Partner Award. The award recipients will be honored at the NECA 2018 conference, which will be held in Philadelphia from Sept 29 to Oct 2.

The NECA Industry Partner Award was established in 1996 to honor "individuals or organizations allied with the electrical construction industry whose decisions, actions, or cooperation with NECA contribute to the industry's success." This is Southwire's first time winning the Industry Partner Award, and one of four electrical manufacturers to be awarded in its history.

“We are extremely honored to receive this recognition from NECA,” said Juan Hernandez, the SVP of End User Contractors. “It reinforces our commitment to develop new products, solutions and services that help increase safety and productivity on the jobsite, and play an active role in solving the challenges that are present in our industry.”

Southwire has been a Premier Partner with NECA since 2015, a sponsorship status granted to leading companies in the electrical construction industry. Through this partnership, Southwire has helped train apprentices through the Electrical Training Alliance (ETA) and supports local chapter initiatives.

Helping to create a sustainable future is our goal for the electrical industry," relayed Tom Feissle, the Southwire Solutions University's Director of Training and liaison between Southwire and NECA. "Both Southwire and NECA recognize the importance of giving back, and through joint initiatives our partnership helps to provide electrical contractors training, education, jobsite solutions, and talent development."

From NECA's press release, CEO John M. Grau is quoted as stating "NECA is incredibly proud to recognize this year's national award recipients." He continues, "There's no question they have made a tremendous impact throughout our industry, and I look forward to celebrating their work with them this fall."

Norman Adkins, Southwire's Group President, Construction Systems and Solutions, was presented with the award during the NECA convention in Philadelphia.
