Limited vs Enhanced: Aaron Hammond has SIMpull Solutions® Innovations

Jan 31, 2018

Aaron Hammond, who you might remember from his blog post about helping Rommel Construction save time and money by changing their jobsite setup, has written in with another success story. Keep reading to see how Hammond was able to help another contractor increase profits while decreasing workload through Southwire's SIMpull Solutions® innovations.

Joe Zalewski, a Senior Project Manager with Battaglia Electric, called in the summer of 2016 to inform me of a possible Southwire copper contract for the brand-new Bayhealth campus project in Milford, Delaware. He was managing it and wanted to learn more about Southwire’s SIMpull Solutions® innovations. We scheduled a time to meet so I could hear more about his needs and present Southwire’s suite of solutions to him. Joe hadn’t used any of the SIMpull Solutions® products yet but was definitely interested in trying what we had to offer.

After our initial meeting and a couple jobsite meetings, Joe was convinced that some of Southwire’s SIMpull Solutions® products would be a good fit for the Bayhealth job. His approach was, “If it creates value, I am going to use it”. The first solution he was looking to try was the SIMpull® CoilPAK™ wire payoffs, but he needed a loaner SIMpull™ CoilPAK™ cart. I was able to provide two loaner carts and some pulling accessories to start. I brought the carts to his job and provided a training session to ensure his crew knew the proper handling procedures for using the SIMpull® CoilPAK™ wire payoffs. From there, I left the carts for about three weeks on his jobsite and followed up a couple times.

The outcome was all positive and they ended up buying our SIMpull™ CoilPAK™ carts for the job. By utilizing the products within Southwire's SIMpull Solutions® innovations, Joe and his crew were able to work smarter and faster. In fact, they enjoyed the benefits of the SIMpull® CoilPAK™ wire payoffs so much that they recently placed another order for SIMpull™ CoilPAK™ carts. They explained that they had experienced a material and labor savings since using the SIMpull® CoilPAK™ wire payoffs compared to their traditional means and methods of installing circuit sized wire. This was a great success for both Battaglia Electric and Southwire. With over 1.8 million feet of #12 & #10 wire to install, they were able to save a ton of time and have their circuits installed in a safer, more productive way using Southwire’s SIMpull® CoilPAK™ wire payoffs.
