Southwire and Premise Health Win PBMI 2019 Excellence Award
A testament the company’s long-standing commitment to employee health and wellbeing.
Carrollton, Ga – March 13, 2019: The partnership between Southwire and Premise Health was one of eight to be recognized for significant efforts and contributions in pharmacy management at the Pharmacy Benefit Management Institute’s (PBMI) 24th Annual National Conference. PBMI is the nation’s leading provider of research and education that informs, advises and influences the industry on topics related to drug cost management. The institute awards organizations each year for their contributions to pharmacy care management strategies, cost containment, opioid management strategies and quality improvement.
“The pharmacy landscape is shifting, and the need for innovation and service excellence is greater than ever,” said Jane Lutz, PBMI executive director. “It’s an honor to be able to award organizations for their exceptional contributions. Congratulations to each of the winners.” In 1993, Southwire opened the Wiggins Family Medical Center, an onsite clinic and pharmacy for employees located at the company’s headquarters in Carrollton, Ga. Run in partnership with Premise Health, the medical center has been providing exceptional care to Southwire employees and their families for 25 years.

We believe that just as each of our employees has a responsibility to Southwire, we also have a responsibility to them.”
Southwire and Premise Health were awarded the 2019 Excellence Award, specifically for their work in care management strategies. According to PBMI, the partnership was recognized for their integrated care model, which combines a clinical pharmacist-led diabetes program, multi-disciplinary care team integration and electronic health record (EHR) integration.
