Great tool very versatile
I used several probe and tone generators priced two to three times as much as this unit and it functions just as well as those higher priced units. It is very comfortable to use and has a volume adjustment, depending on the environment. The flashlight feature is very convenient, especially in dimly light location, ie; under desks, in closets or above drop ceilings.

Failed to perform
I purchased this device to trace a break in underground low voltage landscape wiring. The landscape wiring is a two wire pair 12 gauge copper. The wiring is less than six inches deep but this failed to produce a tone for any wire that was underground even a small amount. I am certain it will work great for other applications but underground wiring not so.

Useful Tone and Probe Kit for your Pouch
I found the tone and probe kit to be easy to use right out of the package. Testing is quick and easy. The tester is comfortable to use and the included test lead kit is well thought out and gives options for using alligator clipsor a RJ45 connection in one kit.
The tone is loud and clear, and the addition of the flashlight is a good addition.

Nice kit
This is a nice kit that comes with a storage bag. The tone generator has a nice set of large full featured alligator clips with long leads and an area to wrap them around for storage making it a little bulky. There is a spare tip in the battery compartment and light on the end of the probe is a nice feature.

such a godsend to save time!
This tone and probe kit simplified my job at work tremendously in order to go through a huge batch of wires bound from the last time we were in the data closet. simple and intuitive to use, this allowed me to pick out my weak link and get the cable replaced near immediately.

Fox and Hound!!!
This tone and probe kit a.k.a. "Fox and Hound in my line of work is great! I can easily find the wire I am looking for in the middle of the hundreds of other wires around it! It is very loud and easily found! Great product Southwire!!!

Why not a 8P8C Modular Connector?
This product overall is a nice package. While I miss having a 8P8C modular plug on the toner, I do really appreciate the integrated cord and alligator clip storage. It was also nice to have a storage bag provided with the kit.

High Quality
I am very happy with this toner. Easy to use, like most toners. I was able to find a wire with this, that was buried underground in a buried splice box covered by grass. I am really happy to have this tool.

You can easily and quickly trace non-energized cables - even behind walls. This product has a replaceable tip, LED flashlight, LED signal strength indicator, rearward facing speaker and stereo headphone jack.

Probes your most hidden circuits
I use this tone & probe kit on everything. Being bored is a thing of the past with this toner. I am finding circuits i didn't even know i had and doing it in style with my led light and volume knob.

Very Useful Tracer
