Basic Coax Termination Instructions

are the connectors the cripper can use proprietary to Southwire or are the universal from any vendor?

The connectors in the kit are for RG6 cable. The compression style F connectors sold at Lowes will work. You can also use the kit to install a connector onto RG6Q cable. RG6Q (Quad shield) has four layers of shielding (two layers of foil and two layers of braiding. Be sure to buy a connector designed for RG6Q if you are going to use RG6Q cable. For home use, standard RG6 (duel shield) cable should work just fine on any cable TV system.
