we are trying find a tool to lower a 4c/750mcm aluminum teck cable down 289 feet in a building. the cable is 5.39lbs/ft and 3 3/8" diameter. Will this unit work for this install?

What is the minimum AWG cable the feeder will accommodate? I see that (4) 500 MCM is the max.

The Maxis Feeder will handle individual conductors from 3/0 to 3 Inch. If you are using a wire smaller than 3/0 the feeder will not interfere with, but it will not assist in, the pulling of that wire. The Four 500 MCM example is listed as an example of the Feeders ability to produce 1600 LBS of force, and is not meant to detail a load limit.

Has this cable feeder been tested to pull or assist cable pulling mid stream to aid in reducing pull tensions ?

Mark, Our feeder is designed to transfer 1,600 LBS of force across 4 conductors and can be used to both push and pull wire. While we have tested our product in a variety of circumstances, we would need more information about your pull to answer this question completely.
