Rated 1 out of 5 by LenS from Male ground terminal fell off not reinforced What is cord because it was supposed to be American made was said to have reinforced terminals well it was not made in the USA and it definitely does not have reinforced terminals.

Purchased several 64826001 14-3 50’ cords. All male ends have a tacky dark residue, with blade resistance sometimes near 500 ohms. What is this coating, and how can it be safely cleaned off? I’m concerned it could overheat and damage outlets.
