Rated 5 out of 5 by vsjr from GREAT TOOL WITH CUT ABILITY I had a requirement to cut cable of 2/0 size and smaller at a [ HAM ] Amateur Radio tower sight for grounding of the tower [ 380 FT. ] of copper and aluminum sheathed and bare cable. and also at my home to make 2/0 battery cables from a 50 ft spool. Well the effort to cut the largest cable that was specified was able to be cut with only minimal effort. The bevel a the front edge makes cutting easier, and the positive stop is timed just right, and saves the bruised fingers, and the handles are well padded. After more than 50 cuts of solid and stranded wire, no wear is evident on the cutting edges. NOTE: I found after cutting 2/0 battery cable to length, that making a light cut only through the cable sheath in 360 degree pattern that the excess of the end was easily pulled away, without damage to the cable. Rated 5 out of 5 by Jeff from 9" cable cutter with plain grips This is a good basic pair of cutters. What is to go wrong. They have old style handles and good weight to tool. I have cut cable to 4/0 alum. I have strong hands. I have cut BX with them. 14-2, 12-2 and 10-2. no issues as far as chips, dents, or scratches to cutting part.
