My Southwire 13070T is reading ac voltage by half...110 shows as 55, 220 shows as 110. I replaced the batteries but it still reads by half.

How come my 13070T meter is now reading my 12 batteries as 8.6 volts. It had been working just fine, but now all of my 12 volt power supplies read around 8.6 volts.

I would first make sure the 13070T is set to read DC Voltage. It may be beneficial to replace the batteries. Another option is to make sure the test leads are fully inserted into the meter. If the unit is still reading low, I would suggest emailing us for a potential warranty replacement at: Southwirecustomerservice@southwire.com.
