often when I switch to off the display remains on and continues to operate. also sometimes when i pick it up the display comes on from the off position. it will eventually shut off but what would cause it to do that?

The 11060S should not be reading, when set to the off position. If this unit is having problem, a warranty claim can be made at: Southwirecustomerservice@southwire.com.
