Detected a fault on a different circuit
This surge protector is in my Grand Design 5th wheel that we have had for a year. While plugged in at my house, I started getting a reverse polarity message although the power stayed connected to my RV. The garage has 2 50A plugs on different breakers so I switched to that and got the same thing. Then a GFCI in my garage started tripping that my electrician determined to be a ground in a three-way 120V switch. ONce this was fixed I no longer got the reverse polarity warning on my Surge Guard. Very impressed with how well it works.

I have the Surge Guard #35550 hardwire unit. I want to add the Remote Power Monitor Display. I believe it is plug-n-play #40300. Is this the correct unit I need to plug into my existing hardwire unit?

This is correct. The display comes with 50' of communication cable. We hope this helps!

Recently my display will intermittently flash "reverse polarity." When I see this, I can unplug the display then plug it back in and the display returns to normal. How can a reverse polarity be intermittent?
