Investment to provide additional capacity and opportunity for company to best serve customers in the retail channel.

Carrollton, GA – March 18, 2021: Continuing to support its long-term modernization strategy, Southwire will soon begin an expansion project at its Retail East Customer Service Center in Villa Rica, Ga.

“Southwire is investing in a multimillion-dollar modernization initiative that will allow us to best serve our customers, increase our efficiency and introduce newer and better equipment, systems and technology,” said Rich Stinson, Southwire’s president and CEO. “In doing so, we’re reaffirming our commitment to providing a work environment that supports the wellbeing of our employees, our communities and the environment – for today and for the future. The expansion of our Retail East Customer Service Center is a key piece of this commitment for our distribution team and retail customers.”

Southwire will be expanding the facility by adding more than 230,000 square feet of space to the existing 400,000 square foot distribution center, which opened in 2018.

“We’re excited about the opportunities that this expansion will bring for our team at Retail East,” said Aaron Asher, Southwire’s vice president of distribution. “As we continue to grow as a company, this project will provide us with additional capacity to best serve our customers in the retail channel.”

Construction of the expansion is expected to be completed by October 2021, and the company plans to be fully operational in the new space by June of 2022.
