As the company continues to align itself to best serve its markets and customers, Southwire has announced that it will close its facility located in Jacksonville, Fla. Operations will cease at the Jacksonville facility on March 6, 2026.
The Jacksonville location is a Distribution Center (DC) facility that has contributed to Southwire’s vast distribution network since 2021. Shipping activities from Jacksonville will be relocated to other existing Southwire locations.
“Our focus remains fulfilling our customers’ needs effectively and efficiently,” said Aaron Asher, Southwire’s senior vice president of Customer Experience. “This decision allows us to optimize our footprint and leverage our existing facilities to embrace a streamlined approach to enhancing the customer experience.”
Impacted team members will have the opportunity to apply for open positions within the business, and those individuals who do not transfer to another Southwire position and who remain satisfactorily employed through their termination date will be offered separation pay.
“This kind of decision is never easy, and the choice to close this facility and relocate their operations was not made lightly,” said Winn Wise, Southwire’s chief commercial officer. “This decision is in no way a reflection of our team members, whose hard work and contributions have led to the successes of the Jacksonville site and to Southwire as a whole. We would like to thank our team members in Jacksonville for their years of service, and we ensure that those impacted by this decision are treated with dignity and respect.”
