Southwire is proud to announce that it has been named as a Top 10 Enterprise-Wide Employee Resource Group (ERG) recipient for the Diversity Impact Awards™ for the second year in a row and is recognized on the Top 25 ERGs list for the first time.

Launched in 2020, the Diversity Impact Awards represent the next iteration of the ERG & Council Honors Award™, the first and longest-running, nationally recognized award to honor the outstanding contributions and achievements of ERGs, BRGs and Diversity Councils.

In 2014, Southwire established its first ERG, and since then, the company has expanded to six ERGs, including the Women’s Network, Spectrum, Nextgen, TEAM, Veterans Network and Allied. These groups actively promote Southwire’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) by engaging employees in opportunities for learning, connection and development in the DEI space.

“We are honored to be recognized by the Diversity Impact Awards for the second year in a row, this time with two DEI-focused programs here at Southwire: the Southwire Link Mentorship Program and our TEAM ERG,” said Cara Herzog, Chief DEI Officer. “Companies that lead with DEI get better results and create workplaces that drive innovation. This recognition is a moment for celebration and inspires us to continue to power progress for our organization and our industry.”

The awards are scored using an ERG Strategic Impact Model that measures overall organizational impact, talent management, the culture of inclusion, leadership commitment, measurement and accountability, communication and education and ERG climate.
“We recognize and celebrate our ERGs’ contributions at Southwire, and the significant role that they play in creating and supporting an inclusive organization,” said Fernando Esquivel, executive vice president and Chief People & Culture Officer. “The impact of the initiatives driven by each of them is helping us to build an organization where all our team members can thrive.”

The 2023 Diversity Impact Awards recipient rankings will be announced during the 2023 Global ERG Summit in October.
