Updated Power Cable Manual Now Available

This useful desk manual now reflects the latest changes in the NEC and industry standards

If you specify or purchase industrial power cable, you should have Southwire's Power Cable Manual on your desk. The third edition of this respected reference book is now available.

"We first released the Power Cable Manual in 1991, and it has become a familiar reference book for many engineers," says Dave Mercier, Southwire director of codes and standards. This new edition has been updated to reflect changes in the 2005 National Electrical Code and other industry standards.

Power Cable Manual joins other Southwire reference manuals

The third edition of the Power Cable Manual takes a place alongside Southwire's other references on wire and cable design, selection, and installation: the Building Wire Manual and the Overhead Conductor Manual. These books have become working tools for Southwire customers. An updated edition of the Overhead Conductor Manual is also in process.

And, if you're working with MC cable in feeder-circuit sizes, you should know about the MC Installation Guide, Southwire's latest addition to our technical references. The MC Installation Guide provides contractors and engineers with essential information about the basic applications, selection, and installation of MC feeder cables in commercial installations. In 50-plus illustrated pages of easy-to-use, job-related know-how, the Guide addresses most questions about handling and installing large MC feeders. There is also material about NEC and UL requirements, plus formulas for detailed calculations, sample cable specifications and product catalog sheets.
