If you design or do acceptance testing on power cable systems, you may have looked for a single source of recommended installation and testing practices for 600V and medium-voltage cables. Now you can get one – at no charge. It’s Southwire’s new Power Cable Guide.
“The power cable information we’re most often asked for is know-how on installation and testing,” says Dave Mercier, director, codes and standards for Southwire’s Electrical Division. “So we’ve assembled material from Southwire’s industry standard Power Cable Manual into a convenient stand-alone reference.”
The Power Cable Guide draws on Power Cable Manual chapters seven - Cable Installation, and nine - Field Testing. Some of the material has been revised or reorganized to make it more effective as a separate reference work. The Power Cable Guide will be available in a convenient three-hole punched 8 1/2 x 11 format, and also online at http://www.Southwire.com.
Besides direct design and field use, where bids and proposals need to include Southwire’s written cable installation instructions, system specifiers can incorporate them by referring to the Power Cable Guide.
“This is another way Southwire assists engineers and system designers in producing high-quality, high-reliability power cable systems,” Mercier says. “We’re always interested in helping you do your job more effectively.”
