Our primary mission is an ambitious one. We seek to shrink our environmental footprint while we expand our business. Southwire has a set of aggressive goals to guide us as we work to develop products and processes that are efficient and environmentally friendly.

Ensuring our operations are as efficient as possible is only part of the job. Our research and development team seeks to make our products environmentally friendly as well. That means reducing the hazardous component of our products, using safer inks and materials, eliminating wooden reels in some cases and finding ways to improve the efficiency of our products.

Reduce, reuse and recycle. Those three words are crucial to a sustainable future for our company. We are working to reduce our use of precious resources, including cutting our water use, reusing materials, reducing scrap, converting our corporate fleet to hybrid cars and other means. We have a recycling program in our corporate offices, warehouses, and manufacturing facilities. At the same time, we are taking steps to eliminate waste entirely - from our offices and manufacturing processes.
