(Carrollton, Ga. – Dec. 4, 2008) – Southwire Company’s  SCR Technologies recently signed a contract Changzhou Jinyuan Copper Company of China. To build a 48-metric-tonne-per-hour copper rod system, including a 13-stand Morgan rolling mill. Changzhou Jinyuan currently produces copper rod. However, this contract represents the first SCR system for their company.

“We are both honored and excited that Changzhou Jinyuan chose the SCR system and joined the SCR Technologies family,” said Will Berry, President of SCR Technologies. “We look forward to the new partnership.”

The system will be capable of producing rod sizes ranging from 8mm up to 25mm. It will include SCR technology such as a twin fork loader for furnace charging and the latest in computerized remote monitoring (Ex-Ray) system for trouble shooting and real time process evaluation by a Southwire expert.
