Southwire’s Riser MC cable recently scored big at the Dallas Cowboy Stadium. Contractor Prism Electric chose Riser MC cable as the power supply source to the newly erected scoreboard. Why Riser MC? David Barton, Prism Electric Project Superintendent states, “This was the best and only solution for the project.” With the structure suspended 90 feet above the stadium floor and hanging down 120 feet from the support structure, challenges were considered inevitable. However, the pull proved to be without incident. “Not only was it a great pull, but its performance exceeded our expectations pulling even better than we planned for,” exclaims David. “We hoped to get two pulls in a day, but actually achieved three.” David and his team are so pleased with the results that they plan to continue to use Riser MC cable on any future jobs that warrant its use.
The newly installed board is the largest hanging scoreboard in the world, weighing 700,000 pounds and measuring approximately 70 feet high by 180 feet long.
